AEI Energy Map - City of New York
A Comprehensive and Interactive Visualization for Exploring Five Years of Energy Use in New York City
AEI used 5 years of publicly available LL84 energy data from the City of New York combined with PLUTO land-use data to construct this interactive AEI Energy Map™ visualization. With nothing more than utility bills and square footage, visualizations such as these can provide a valuable resource for municipalities, campuses and commercial property owners to trend their sustainability goals.
Adding in utility meter interval data sheds light on peak demands, weather normalization and occupancy profiling. Even with just this limited and readily-available data, we can begin to understand how buildings are performing; How they perform over time, how they compare to each other in a portfolio, and how well they compare to national reference data from DOE.
